HLVH Tailstock Installation/Removal Platform (Backsaver)

After having to remove the tailstock a few times recently , in order to save some back wear and profanity, I scabbed the attached platform together, made from some 3/4 thick formica-laminated scrap. The tailstock can be plopped up on the platform, then the dovetails easily slid into alignment. Makes removal easier also since the tailstock can rest on the platform with the dovetail disengaged, then picked up or slid off. As folks know, the hardinge bed is pretty high off the ground, which makes installation more difficult. Cheers
