Question of fit of vari-speed pulley on motor of 2J head

I needed a new stationary pulley for the motor on a 2J1-1/2 head because I broke the last one pulling it off (yeah, dumb I know). Anyway the new one came and I expected it to be a press fit, but the pulley just slipped on the shaft easy. In fact I could wiggle it ever so slightly once it was on the rotor shaft. (I'm talking about the stationary half of the pulley, not the sliding half with the delrin bushing).

I pulled the pulley off and measured the I.D. and it was .002 bigger than the shaft, which of course is not an interference fit for this size shaft. Shouldn't this be a press fit? The issue is not with the shaft being worn. The last pulley was on so tight, I broke it trying to remove it. The issue is with the pulley. A couple of different suppliers show the exact same picture of this pulley, so I'm assuming dealers are getting the part from the same manufacter (High Quality Tools?)

I went ahead and put the pulley on with a little loctite to fill the void, and torqued the set screw on the key. Later I checked the fit by removing the set screw, and I could no longer wiggle the pulley. In fact I could no longer pull it off by hand.

I can't remember the last time I installed a pulley on a piece of machinery, which wasn't a press fit. Should I be concerned about this?
