HELP Bridgeport series 1 quill stuck

So I was milling this am, and needed to drill several holes in a work piece. After several of the holes had been drilled, I changed bits and brought the quill down to touch and rezero my quill indicator. When I tried to bring up my quilll, it moves about 1" then stops abruptly. Goes up and down freeley, it's just stuck at the bottom if travel. I put the gear box in neutral in the spindle moves freeley.

Any ideas what may have happened and how to fix?
