hi I put this thread up middle of last year, but had no replies, ive now moved shop and re setup (ha ha ha ) takes forever. as previous thread machine would run ok for days, so not the end of world, but now the spindle has stopped, so fault has got worse. It happened during a tool change, when the spindle has to orientate to enable tool transfer, it spun round as normal then started a cyclic motion ie say approx. half a turn one way and then turn the other way back at approx say 200 times a min. I stopped the machine and in manual mode started spindle and it did the same again, and I also noticed the spindle load needle was 100% so quickly switched it off. I have very little electrical knowledge, and any help would be appreciated, as I hope to be able to at least isolate the problem then maybe buy a second hand board/drive? to try fist, before the engineer calls.
