I'm getting the rest of my Bridgeport M head soon.It is being sent to me in I think...three pieces?I'm told by the seller that the M head is in excellent shape, but I thought that since the head has already been disassembled into its main, basic components that it might also be a good idea(and opportunity) to service the head.Mainly to clean out and re-grease/re-pack the spindle and bearings.I'm not sure what else might need attention?Maybe replace the wicks?I'm not sure?If anyone else has any suggestions that would be fine. The other thing is,I've never worked on any major vertical mill components before.I know how to run and set up milling operations, but they don't teach you how to service a milling machine in school short of oiling the ways before and after use.I'm hoping that the M head at least comes with a parts and owners/operations manual, but these things don't exactly come with a Chilton's manual that tells you step by step how to service your Bridgeport and put it back together properly like your 1970 Chevy.I haven't found anything really on servicing the M head and not sure if there is anything like that out there?I found a tutorial that was for servicing/replacing spindle bearings for a Clausing 8525 or 8530...maybe it is similar?
