I have just picked up Hardinge indexer, the problem is with the lever for the ratchet at the spindle nose. The lever has two holes, the smallest has a pin in it, the second, larger hole has nothing. The housing that goes round the spindle and contains the ratchet, has been damaged at this point so the lever can flop from side to side.
I have looked at the pics on the web and it seems that there should be a pin in the larger hole in the lever that moves in a slot in the housing, if so I can repair the broken corner of the housing and re machine the slot but is there something else to stop the handle being loose. Thanks for any advice.
