Bridgeport Ram swap compatability

I have a 1964 Bridgeport with dovetailed ram and a M head (MT2 spindle). I purchased a Bridgeport of unknown age (serial number was unreadable due to rust) with a working 2j2 head but most everything else on that mill is broken or work right out.

Can I just crank off the ram with the 2j2 head and replace the ram on my current mill?

Or should I swap the heads only?
