I got an old DSM59 and the spindle bearings are shot. I think the last guy put the bearings in backwards. When I took them out, they were in >=< configuration (because they said "thrust here" facing each other). This head stock has a pair of 3-segment rings that act as the outer spacer, situated inboard of the bearings. The head stock is bored straight through, with grooves that the 3-segment rings lock in to. Without a shoulder to push on the outer race, I'm thinkin' the bearings should be <=> configuration. Any comments?
