MT3 Hardinge HLV-H Tailstock

I have a Taiwanese HLV-H clone, that I've been quite happy with, but it is about the only tool in our shop with a MT2. My other lathes have a MT3. I would like to use my MT3 tooling on the HLV-H clone, plus it would just make things simpler in the shop.

I'm considering converting the MT2 to an MT3. Has anyone else had experience doing this? Would there be any downside or disadvantage, besides the less material holding the morse taper?
