I removed mine for it's semi annual cleaning. As I neglected it last time I cleaned the mill.
Putting the x-axis lead screw back in, I can't feel the backlash like I can on the y-axis. Almost feels like something is on the verge of binding. So I'm thinking the feed nut bracket is to blame. What is the property way to get things square for both axis? Loosen up the bolt holding the feed nut bracket on and for 4 holding on the bearing bracket for the y-axis. Then turn the y-axis handle so the saddle comes to the front. Then tighten all 8 bolts?
