My new to me EZ Trak has some noises in the head and yesterday I went into the garage (40*F at the time) to record the sounds. I noticed a new sound that isn't normally there which sounded a bit like a bad cartridge bearing. This is the first time I've run it below say 55*F, so I'm sure the grease is thicker. Should I let it run gently for a couple minutes and see if it goes away, or assume it's a bad bearing and go exploring? Maybe the bearing is starting to go and the symptoms are worse at low temperatures?
This thread implies low temperature is not an issue, which makes sense given the number of unheated shops I've seen.

A couple other threads imply there is a rust concern if the garage warms up too much faster than the machine, but don't mention issues to the machine. My garage is attached, so hopefully it won't be a big issue. I guess I could oil everything if needed, but I haven't had problems on my other tools.
