Hardinge HLV Question

Gentlemen,

I'm trying to help out a friend with his HLV. The power cord to the carriage drive motor is in need of replacement. We've removed the motor with gearhead from the machine and have removed the brushes from the motor and the end bell screws. Is there anything special I need to know before attempting to remove the motor end bell with the brush holders. I don't know if there is anything unusual about this motor assembly and don't want to do any damage.
