I know that questions like this will get a mixed bag of replies plus some sideways comments, fair enough...
I was curious what one would expect to pay for a good condition Bridgeport J-head mill. Assume the machine has no DRO, no auto feed, but has very clean table (scraping still visible) and good ways (chrome still in good shape). Original decent paint too.
In my area I can pick up clapped out Bridgeports or ones in "ok" condition for well under $2k. What should I expect to pay for one that I can put into the shop and use for another 50 years without ever having to think about grinding/scraping it?
I'd like something to go next to my South Bend 10L that just finished restoration:
